Stefanos-Iordanis Papadopoulos is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Information Technologies Institute (ITI) of the Centre for Research and Technology Hellas (CERTH). He received his BSc in Applied Informatics (Computer Science and Technology) from the Department of Applied Informatics, University of Macedonia, in 2018, his MSc in Data and Web Science from the School of Informatics, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, in 2021, and his PhD in Multimodal Deep Learning Methods for Image-Text Verification in Misinformation Detection from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, in 2026. Dr. Papadopoulos has co-authored numerous papers published in international journals and conference proceedings and has participated in several EU-funded research projects. His research interests include multimodal deep learning for multimedia verification and retrieval, with a particular focus on automated multimodal misinformation detection and fact-checking.
