George Karantaidis is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Information Technologies Institute (ITI) of the Centre for Research & Technology Hellas (CERTH) and is a member of the Multimedia Knowledge and Social Media Analytics Lab (MKLab). He holds a Diploma degree in Engineering (2013), an M.Sc. degree in Computational Intelligence (2017) from the Department of Informatics, an M.Sc. degree in Geoinformatics (2017) from the School of Engineering, and a PhD in Signal Processing and Information Analysis (2024) from the School of Informatics, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. His current research interests include frugal AI, deep learning, information forensics, and signal processing. Dr. Karantaidis has participated as a project manager, task leader, and researcher in various EU-funded and National research projects. He was awarded a full grant from the Hellenic Foundation for Research and Innovation (HFRI) for his PhD studies. He is also a member of the Technical Chamber of Greece and a regular member of the Committee for Gender Equality and the Fight Against Discrimination of CERTH.
